Do you believe that repetition of words creates repetition of thoughts, and repetition of thoughts creates reality?

Whatever your answer, here’s a challenge for you: Try these 6 Powerhouse Tips for Activating Positive Affirmations and see what happens.

Start by recognizing the words you already speak to yourself. Do any of these statements sound familiar?

“I’ll never be able to start this new business that I’ve been dreaming about; I’m just not smart enough to pull it off.”

“I wish I had the courage to ask for that raise I know I deserve. I don’t know how to assert myself and, even worse, I let my boss walk all over me. I’m never going to get ahead. I’m such a loser and I never get anything right.”

“Why do my friends even ask me to go out with them? I really think they secretly hate me. I’m not outgoing, I don’t dress like they do, and I’m pretty sure I always put off a negative vibe. I’m a terrible friend.”

“I don’t know why I even bother to try. Nothing ever seems to go my way.”

It’s all too common to allow ourselves to have negative thoughts like this. Many of us do it on a regular basis and aren’t even aware of it. For whatever reason, human beings tend to let their negative mind overrule their positive mind and it’s wreaking havoc on our confidence, mood, and goals. As a result, these negative thoughts can drag down our personal lives, our relationships, and even our careers.

So, what if we intentionally do the opposite and practice positive thoughts about ourselves? The effect can be just as powerful but far more helpful.

What are Affirmations?

Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often, and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes, become more motivated, and experience more success in meeting your life goals.

Self-fulfilling prophecy is another way of looking at affirmations. It is a process by which a false expectation leads to its own…
